Alt Text: Painted mostly in cool acid green, pea green, and earthy orange, the painting’s composition constitutes a series of skinny vertical stripes. Each band depicts a fractured reflection from a tall mirror mounted on a bathroom door, and into or out of, a picture frame which hangs in a fancy parlor room. The upward compositional divisions each reveal highly cropped sections of the two rooms and of the anatomy of two women, perhaps a mother and daughter. One, or each of them, apparently unseen by the other, aims to take a photo of the other on their smart phones.

The Entertainment Community Fund and New York Foundation for the Arts are thrilled to present “Applying for Affordable Housing in NYC!” This webinar is aimed to help participants get organized so they can be best prepared to take advantage of opportunities to apply.

During this event, we will explain the application process in simple steps to help applicants avoid common mistakes and include resources and information to support immigrant artists in applying for these opportunities. We’ll share information regarding assessing your income, eligibility criteria, and documentation in order to address the specific needs of arts workers.

At the beginning of the seminar, you will also learn about the WFF Housing Stability Grant for Artists, a new grant supporting NYC-based visual artists in need for stable housing, from Mollie Quinlan-Hayes, Program Officer, NYFA Grants.

This program is co-presented by the Immigrant Artist Resource Center, which is part of NYFA Learning, the professional development arm of NYFA. The Resource Center presents public programs and shares resources to support and address needs of the immigrant artist community.
