What is NYSCA?
The New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) is dedicated to providing New York State-based artists and arts organizations the resources to develop their work and connect with the public. Grantmaking is central to this mission, and in FY2020 NYSCA awarded $43.8M to 2,500 organizations statewide through direct grants and regrants. NYSCA funding supports the visual, literary, media, and performing arts and includes dedicated support for arts education and underserved communities.
A fiscal sponsor is required to apply to NYSCA FY2022 Round 3: Support for Artists grants.
Organizational applicants may also use a fiscal sponsor to apply to NYSCA FY2022 Round 3: Support for Organizations.
What is Fiscal Sponsorship?
NYFA Fiscal Sponsorship is a fundraising and administrative tool available to U.S. based artists and arts organizations in all disciplines. Sponsorship allows you to use NYFA’s 501(c)(3) charitable status to apply for grants, corporate sponsorship and offer donors the incentive of a tax deduction.
How does Out-of-Cycle Review work?
In order to help meet the NYSCA deadline, NYFA Fiscal Sponsorship offers an Out-of-Cycle Review application. There is a $175 administrative fee for applications and a turnaround period of two weeks. Fiscal sponsorship status must be acquired before applying to the NYSCA grant for many categories; please read the guidelines carefully.
