Cecile Chong nació en Ecuador de padres chinos y creció en Quito y Macao. Su instalación de arte público EL DORADO – The New Forty Niners fue instalado en los cinco condados de Nueva York (2017-2022). Exposiciones individuales incluyen Kates-Ferri Projects, Sugar Hill Children’s Museum, Selenas Mountain, ICFAC en Pinta Miami, Smack Mellon, Kenise Barnes Fine Art y BRIC, entre otras. El trabajo de Chong se encuentra en las colecciones de El Museo del Barrio, el Museo de China en América, la Fundación Rockefeller, el Hospital Bryn Mawr, Citibank Art Advisory y colecciones privadas a nivel internacional. Chong recibió una maestría en bellas artes de Parsons, una maestría en educación de Hunter College y una licenciatura en arte de estudio de Queens College. Chong es actualmente parte del programa EFA Studio y miembro artista de Tiger Strikes Asteroid NY. También forma parte del Comité de Servicios para Artistas de CAA y es miembro de la junta de Artyard BK y Smack Mellon.
